Glock Liphart Probst & Partner is providing legal support for the planning and supervision of the site clearance of the former Bavarian Barracks in Munich Freimann, covering approx. 60 hectares. In 2019, the city council approved an innovative recycling concept for the model site, which will test the circular economy for the construction industry. The aim is to redevelop the site with sustainability in mind, keeping the impact on the environment and the consumption of energy and resources as low as possible. To this end, the demolition material, especially concrete, and the excavated material will be recycled as far as possible, including through a crushing plant and a mixing plant directly on site. The material can then be reused for the new buildings on the site. The forward-looking project, which is to be implemented by 2028, requires new and unusual approaches to describing the services to be provided by those involved in planning and construction.
